Genavieve lives in Canterbury, New Zealand, and is forever inspired by her local landscape and the offerings of Papatuanuku, mother earth. She is an avid observer of the seasons, florals and botanicals, in her own garden in Kaiapoi and wild in the land. She works from her home studio, in between raising her family and her job as an early childhood teacher.

​A self taught artist, who loves exploring vibrant colour. She experiments with her artistic style, sometimes preferring to work in abstraction and sometimes working in an impressionistic and expressionistic style. She loves to build up layers, often using the impasto technique. In her loose style she often aims to capture a moment of beauty that would otherwise fade.

Genavieve usually paints in acrylics, but also paints in oils.
